If I do not provide my aadhar number will I be rejected?

No, but you have to update your aadhar number to facilitate the recruiting organisation for your identification.

Will my Biometric data be stored on servers?

No, when you give your biometric impression at the test site, the image is not stored by www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. It is only forwarded to Unique Identification Authority of India site for authentication.

When can I update my aadhar number?

You can update at the time of registration or at any time when you receive it from Unique Identification Authority of India. However, you must try to update it before appearing for the SSB/other tests.

What is validity period of medical examination?

The validity period of medical examination for all cases will be 180 days. The validity period will counted from the the date of initial medical examination conducted by Recruiting Medical Officer/medical Officer.

How can I change my District and Tehsil?

Please take your supporting documents to your ZRO who will check the documents and if required make the necessary changes in your data.

How do I find the ARO responsible for recruitment in my district of domicile?

Go to ‘Check Eligibility’ option in JCO/OR Enrollment, select your State and district from the drop down menu. Your ARO will be shown on screen.

Can I apply without Aadhar number?

You may apply, but you are advised to obtain the same at the earliest and update it in your profile for ease in biometric identification during recruitment/selection.

How do I come to know the schedule of rally in my area ?

You have to visit the nearest Army Recruiting Office in your district or Army Recruiting Office under which your district falls or Headquarter Recruiting Zone of state whose telephone No / Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) is given on this web site. You are also requested to keep checking this website for the rally schedule.

What are the documents required during recruitment rally?

Mark sheet, Board certificate, Caste certificate, Domicile certificate and Character certificate from Sarpanch in original and photocopy in duplicate duly attested by Gazetted Officer/Self attested.

Can candidates of Rajasthan be enrolled outside Rajasthan in Army?

No! Candidates of Rajasthan can only be recruited in army rallies conducted inside Rajasthan State. Only wards of serving army personnel can seek outsider sanction in the State where their father is posted. If anybody is promising you enrolment in army beyond Rajasthan State area he is definitely trying to cheat you, hence beware.

Can girls participate in the rally?

No, only boys can participate.

My elder brother is presently serving in the Army; do I get the benefit of physical/bonus marks in Common Entrance Exam?

Brother of a serving/retired soldier does not get benefit in terms of physical/bonus marks. He only gets the benefit of participating in a recruitment rally.

Can a boy apply for Military Nursing Service?

No, only girls can apply for Military Nursing Service.

Can I take part in rally of other district in the State?

No, you can't. You can take part only in your district rally.

I am holding NCC 'B' certificate, what is the benefit in case I produce it in the rally ?

In case you have applied for Soldier General Duty and Soldier Tradesman Category, you will get 10 bonus marks in the Common Entrance Exam provided you pass the Common Entrance Exam.

In what time frame do I need to report to military hospital for review of medical?

If you are declared Permanent Unfit (PUF), you have to report to the Military Hospital for review within 21 days of medical examination and for Temporary Unfit (TUF) 42 days.

How much time does it take for documents to be received in Army recruiting Office from Military Hospital after being declared fit in medical?

10 to 15 days from the day the result is declared in Military Hospital.

After being declared medically fit by the Military Hospital, what is the action to be taken?

You should report to your Army Recruiting Office for schedule of next Common Entrance Exam and other details.

Where do I get the Admit Card for Common Entrance Examination (CEE) ?

Admit Card are issued by Army Recruiting Office generally a day prior to actual date of Common Entrance Exam at Common Entrance Exam site.

Is there any negative marking in written exam and in which category ?

Yes 0.5 negative marks are given for a wrong answer for all categories.

Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) informing me as pass but I am not listed in the Result ?

Because you are not making in the merit list.

Can I enroll in my father's Regiment?

Yes, provided vacancy exists; you should give your choice of arm at your respective Army Recruiting Office.

I have been selected for interview as religious teacher, can you provide railway warrant for Centre ?

When candidates are called for interview at Regt/Corps Training Centre (s). They will be entitled to free conveyance by Sleeper Class in Mail/Express trains only for their journey from to the concerned training centres and back. The candidates will be paid travelling Allowance for attending interview by the concerned Centre before despatch under Major Head 2076, Minor 105A, Code 250.

What are the charges for getting enrolled in the Army?

Enrolment in the Army is ABSOLUTELY FREE.

I am presently in 10+2. Can I apply for Soldier Clerk category?

No, you can only apply for Soldier Clerk/SKT category after declaration of results of 10+2 and having scored 60% marks in aggregate, 50% in each subject. English, Maths/Accountancy/Book Keeping, should be your compulsory subjects in Class 10th or 12th.

Army Recruitment Rally is planned in my District from 19-27 October 2013. The candidates of my district are permitted to participate in the rally on 22 October 2013 only. However, I will be completing my maximum age limit i.e 21 years for Soldier (General Duty) category on 20 October 2013. Can I still participate in the rally?

Yes, the first day of the rally i.e 19 Oct 2013 is counted as cut off date for enrolment in the Army for whole duration of rally. Thus you are eligible for the said category on the given date.

Whose signatures are required on the character certificate and caste certificate? What is the validity period of the character certificate?

Character certificate with official stamp duly signed by the Village Sarpanch/ Ward Parshad / Headmaster / Principal of a recognized School / College (where the candidate is presently studying) will be acceptable. This certificate is valid for six months from the date of issue. For Caste certificate a self attested stamp paper is required.

Which certificate is required as a proof of date of birth?

Education certificate of 10th class from a central / state education board recognized for the purpose of employment under central government in addition to higher education certificate whenever required.

There is a variation of 280 days in date of birth recorded in 'Relationship certificate' issued by Record Office of my father and in my 10th mark sheet? Am I still eligible to enjoy the benefit of Son of Serving Soldier (SOS)?

A variation of upto 366 days in date of birth recorded in the official records and the education certificate of the candidate may be taken as minor variation and candidate is considered as eligible for relaxation and bonus marks, if applicable. Any variation beyond 366 days is treated as major variation and candidate cannot enjoy any benefit in terms of physical relaxation / bonus marks. However, he can be processed as a general candidate in open rallies of Army Recruiting Office only.

There is a minor variation in my name recorded in 'Relationship certificate' issue by Record Office of my father and in my 10th mark sheet ? What can be done to resolve the discrepancy ?

In case of acceptable / minor variation in the individual's name, father's name / mother's name, surname and date of birth etc as shown on the education certificate of the candidate vis-a-vis the documents of the serving/retired soldier/widow/war widow, the bonafide of the candidate will need to be established. For the same, an affidavit of Rs.10/- non-judicial stamp paper duly countersigned by the Executive Magistrate Class-1/Notary authorized by Class-1 Magistrate is required to be submitted before he is granted the benefit of being of son/brother of serving/retired soldier. If any contrary fact comes later to light, the individual will be held accountable and the service of the candidate will be terminated in addition to legal action. In case the candidate cannot provide the affidavit, no benefit whatsoever shall be granted to the individual and he will be processed as a general candidate in open rallies of Army Recruiting Office only.

My elder brother was enrolled into the Army enjoying the benefits of the relationship certificate issued by Record Office of my father. Am I eligible for the same also ?

Only one son of a serving/retired soldier can enjoy the benefit of physical relaxation and bonus marks (both together).

During the last rally which I have attended, the relationship certificate was rejected stating that the details of officer signing the certificate is not mentioned on it?

Relationship certificate may be issued by Record Office concerned duly signed by an officer of the concerned Records in addition to Chief Record Officer/Senior Record Officer indicating the full details of the officer's personal No, rank, name and appointment to make him accountable at any stage.

Notification

How many day prior to the Rally is the notification published?

Notification is published one month prior to the commencement of the first rally of that particular Recruitment Sub Cycle.

Intimation of the notification for rallies is published in which all media?

Intimation of the notification for rallies is published in local as well as national news paper four week prior to a recruitment rally. It is also available in Indian Army Website (www.joinindianarmy.nic.in) and Recruiting Directorate Website one month prior to the commencement of the first rally of a particular Recruitment Sub Cycle.

How many times is the notification for rallies published in a year?

Two times i.e. Mar and Sep every year.

How many rallies are conducted by a particular Army Recruiting Office (ARO) in a year?

Minimum one rally is organised by an Army Recruiting Office (ARO) once every six months.

Which are the months of the year when recruitment rallies are not held?

There is no rallies held in the months of Mar, Jun, Sep and Dec being dispatch months.

Are the recruitment rallies held District / Tehsil wise?

Yes.

Candidate should meet the age criteria for a particular category on the first day of a particular rally.

How does one apply for a recruitment rally?

A candidate must apply online by registering in the websitewww.joinindianarmy.nic.in and apply for a particular category he is eligible. Once the online application is filled, the particular Army Recruiting Office (ARO) under the jurisdiction the candidate belongs would intimate the date on which the candidate is to report for the rally.

How many vacancies are there for a particular category for a rally ?

Vacancies are based on the RMP prevalent in the region and is allotted at the time when the merit is beng prepared.

I have passed 10 + 2. Am I eligible for Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical and Soldier Technical?

Eligibility criteria for Soldier Technical and Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical are as under

Should have secured 40% marks in each subject and 50% in aggregate in Class XII. Should have studied English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class XII or Class X. Should have secured min 40% marks in each of these subject, whether in Class XII or Class X. If a candidate is a graduate (any field) with Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping and English (even elective) as one of the subjects, the stipulation of scoring 40% marks in Maths/English in Class XII or Class X and scoring 50% marks in aggregate in Class XII is waived off. If a candidate is a graduate but not having English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping at graduate level, he should have scored minimum 40% marks in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping at least once in Class XII or Class X. 17 ½ -23 yrs

Can I apply for a choice of arm? I am a Son Of Serving soldier (SOS)/ Son of Ex-Servicemen (SOEX)?

Yes, you can apply for a choice of arms and the applied arms can only be allotted if vacancies are available for that particular arm.

What are the education eligibility required for various categories?

My father is serving in the Army. Am I eligible for award of bonus marks?

Yes. 20 bonus marks will be allotted to one son of a serving person/ex-servicemen if not availed previously.

What are the relaxation given in the physical measurements for sportsmen and Son of Ex-Servicemen (SOEX), Son of Widow (SOW) and Son of War Widow (SOWW)?

Yes, but residence cert duly signed by Tehsildar is required to be produced.

Which are the disciplines in sports where relaxation for physical measurement is awarded to sportsmen?

Athletics (including Track and Field Events, Marathon, Cross & Country), Archery, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, kayaking and Canoeing, Rowing, Shooting, Squash, Swimming, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball, Weight Lifting, Wrestling and Fencing.

What are the documents required for a recruitment rally?

What is the validity for period for a Character Certificate and Unmarried Certificate?

These certificates should have been issued within six months from the first day of a particular recruitment rally.

Are passport size photographs required in coloured or black & white?

Coloured passport size photographs are required.

How many photographs are required?

20 passport size latest coloured photos in good quality are required. No attested / stamped photographs are permitted.

How many photographs are required for Sikh candidates?

20 passport size latest coloured photos each with turban and without turban..

Are Residence Certificate signed by Naib Tehsildar valid ?

The Residence Certificate should be signed by Tehsildar / Authorised Govt signatory.

Can a candidate from a district take part in the Rally of another district?

No.

I am holding a NCC ‘B’ Certificate am I eligible for any dispensation?

Yes, 10 bonus marks will be awarded in Common Entrance Examination.

I am holding a NCC ‘C’ Certificate am I eligible for any dispensation.

For NCC C certificate holders applying for Soldier GD and Soldier Tradesmen category are exempted from Common Entrance Examination and all other categories will be awarded 15 Bonus Marks in the Common Entrance Examination.

Which certificate is required to authenticate proof of age?

The entire country has been divided into six regions namely Western Plains, Eastern Plains, Central Plains, Southern Plains, Western Himalayan and Eastern Himalayan. The minimum physical standards for the various regions will be as follows:

No.

Yes.

What is the stipulated time frame for review medical cases classified as Temporary Unfit (TUF) and Permanent Unfit (PUF)?

The permissible timeframe for Permanent Unfit (PUF) cases is 21 days and for Temporary Unfit (TUF) cases is 42 days.

How much time does it take for review medical documents to reach the concerned Military Hospital after the rally?

The documents reach the concerned MH within 7 days from the date of medical carried out for the candidate at the rally.

After a candidate is declared medically fit what is the next course of action?

Medicallly fit candidates will be issued admit cards to appear in Common Entrance Examination by the respective Army Recruiting Office (ARO).

How many questions are we required to solve and what is the duration of the Exam?

50 questions are required to be solved in 1hour duration.

Whether documents to be deposited during the rally can be self-attested or whether these have to be attested by a gazetted officer?

These will be self-attested.

How can I change my trade from that submitted earlier?

You can change it till the time application is not submitted. Once submitted the trade opted for is final .

When can I download my admit card?

Admit card can be downloaded three days after closure of application.

How do I find out the rally location?

Rally location will be intimated in admit card as per your domicile

Please intimate the format of the affidavit that I have to get along for the rally.

The format of the affidavit is available in the profile. It is visible after you have submitted your application. The format has to be printed on a Rs 10 Stamp Paper and notarized from a court.
